Bad Dreams And Other Waking Nightmares (2021) original painting

Another one I just went in without thinking about, those are the most fun. The first part I did was the creepy green serpent-like thing with the giant freaky eyes, immediately it reminded me of a nightmare I had when I was a kid. I walked into this room with some other kids my age and there was this weird (please think about the pickle/cucumber from Veggie Tales; I did not watch Veggie Tales as a child) humanoid slimy pickle thing interacting with them. It was probably about as tall as me, no mouth, no arms or legs, just eyes. I went to talk to it and it’s eyes widened with this random rage as it started shaking and trembling. It was absolutely angry at me for some reason. It was horrifying as a 5 year old; I dubbed him The Goop Man. The Goop Man has been a staple nightmare figure for me - I’ve never been able to revisit him in my adulthood but I’d like to, I want to know what I did to make him so angry and if I can do anything to reconcile our dream friendship that should have been.
When I was working on this I was mostly listening to some creepy stuff on YouTube - some Reddit horror stories, Nexpo and MamaMax - just to get into some scary mindsets. I placed myself here as well, hiding behind the green figure in the center, watching you watch the painting - watching myself recount these creepy dreams and figures.
